BaT Auction: 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Hardtop Coupe

This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme is a hardtop coupe that was refurbished during prior ownership. The exterior was refinished in Pinehurst Green, the interior was reupholstered in Cameo White, and the Rocket 350ci V8 was replaced. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes American Racing 15″ alloy wheels, air conditioning, and a custom stereo system. The selling dealer acquired the car earlier this year, and subsequent maintenance included recharging the air-conditioning system, an oil change, fitting aftermarket headers, and replacement of the steering box. This Cutlass Supreme coupe is now offered with a clean North Carolina title.

The car was refinished in Pinehurst Green during prior ownership according to the selling dealer. Features include a split front grille, dual exhaust outlets, and a chrome driver’s side mirror, bumpers, and rocker trim.

American Racing 15″ Torq Thrust wheels wear 235/60 Eldorado Legend GT tires. The struts are replacement Monroe Sensa-Trac units according to the selling dealer, and recent service included replacement of the steering box.

The interior was reupholstered in Cameo White over contrasting black carpets, along with faux wood trim on the dashboard and door panels. A custom silver-painted enclosure is mounted over the transmission tunnel and houses a Panasonic MXE Premier Series stereo, and additional audio upgrades consist of a pair Soundstream Tarantula Series amplifiers with matching subwoofers fitted inside the truck. The air-conditioning system was recently recharged according to the selling dealer.

A stock two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and an odometer showing under 43k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci Rocket V8 was reportedly replaced during prior ownership and features a gold-finished block, chrome accessories and valve covers, and AN fittings with stainless-steel lines. The selling dealer states that the oil was recently changed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer recently replaced the exhaust manifolds with headers mated to the dual exhaust. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
