This 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser is finished in Beige Metallic over a two-tone tan interior and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The truck was acquired in April 2019 by the seller, who has since converted the A/C to R134a, serviced the transmission, and refreshed the brakes, cooling, and ignition systems. Modifications include an ARB front bumper, LED driving lamp, roof rack, and a Kenwood CD player. Now showing 134k miles, this FJ62 is offered with partial records, a factory owner’s manual, manufacturer literature, a production build sheet, a Carfax report, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Beige Metallic (4G8) and features a roof rack, tinted windows, and an ARB front bumper fitted with an LED driving lamp. According to the Carfax report, the truck hit a boulder in 2014, resulting in damage to the front and left rear of the vehicle. Rust is noted behind the driver-side rear wheel, and the passenger-side driving lamp is missing.
Factory chrome 15″ wheels feature manually-locking front hubs and are mounted on 31×10.5″ Hankook Dynapro A/T tires with 2018 date codes. A service in April 2019 included a four-wheel alignment as well as replacement of the brake master cylinder, load sensing valve, and front leaf spring bushings.
The seats have been reupholstered in tan and brown leather, and the cabin features brown carpets and factory cloth door panel inserts. Amenities include power exterior mirrors, a digital clock, and a modern Kenwood CD stereo with a display screen, which is linked to aftermarket speakers and subwoofers mounted in the rear cargo area. The air conditioning was fitted with a replacement compressor and converted to use R134a refrigerant in 2019, and the rear window regulators were cleaned and lubricated. Several cracks are noted on the dash.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a 110-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge housing the auxiliary instruments and warning lights. Over 134k miles are shown on the six-digit odometer, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller.
The fuel-injected 4.0-liter 3F-E straight-six was factory-rated at 155 horsepower with 220 lb-ft of torque when new. The water pump, heater hose, and a radiator hose were replaced in December 2019, and an oil change was also performed. Additional maintenance carried out over the past year included replacement of the fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and drivetrain fluids.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. An additional photo of the underbody is provided in the gallery.
The June 2020 Carfax report lists the aforementioned accident in September 2014 and displays registration history in Tennessee and Washington from its first update in April 1995 through its most recent entry in March 2020.
