BaT Auction: 19k-Mile 2006 Audi S4 25quattro Special Edition

This 2006 Audi S4 25quattro is #163 of 250 examples produced to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the introduction of Quattro all-wheel drive. All were finished in Avus Silver over Jet Gray and black leather and powered by a 4.2-liter V8 that sends drive to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The car was sold new from Byers Imports of Columbus, Ohio and remained with its first registered owner prior to seller’s acquisition in July 2019. 25quattro equipment includes DTM-style bumpers, front and rear spoilers, 18″ Ronal wheels, carbon fiber trim, and a unique shift knob. This S4 25quattro indicates 19k miles and is offered with service records from new, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

All 250 examples were finished in Avus Silver, and equipment includes unique DTM-style bumper covers, a carbon fiber front chin spoiler and rear lip, a grille finished in high gloss Phantom Black, and optional graphics affixed to the lower doors as a tribute to the Ur-Quattro. Detailed photos of the finish and trim can be viewed in the gallery below.

DTM-inspired factory 18″ Ronal wheels were also exclusive to the 25quattro and are wrapped in 235/40 Continental SportContact 2 tires showing date codes from 2005.

The cabin is upholstered in black leather with Jet Gray inserts on the seats, door panels, and steering wheel. Amenities include a glass sunroof, carbon fiber trim, power-adjustable and heated Recaro front seats with Quattro scripts embossed in the backrests, a unique “1 of 250” shift knob, cruise control, automatic climate control, and navigation. The seller states a lifetime subscription to Sirius/XM radio is included with the car.

Instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a color LCD screen along with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer indicates 19k miles, of which approximately 4k have been added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter DOHC V8 was factory-rated at 340 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transmission and a Quattro all-wheel-drive-system featuring a Torsen center differential. In January 2020, Audi Dayton, Ohio performed an oil change and an inspection.

Service records said to cover the car from new, two key fobs, and valet keys are included in the sale.

The May 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration and service history with two total owners in Ohio through the most recent entry in January 2020. A cold-start video can be viewed below.
