This 2006 Bentley Arnage R is one of approximately 60 Diamond Series examples produced worldwide to commemorate 60 years of production at the Bentley Crewe factory in Cheshire, England. It is finished in Peacock over an Autumn leather interior, and Diamond Series equipment includes 19″ chrome twin-spoke alloy wheels, a chromed radiator shell with a “Flying B” mascot, Burr Oak veneers, and special badging. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and engine-out work in February 2018 included installing a new water pump, camshaft, valve lifters, spark plugs, and more. Originally delivered to Symbolic Motorcars in San Diego, California, the car spent time in Texas before it was acquired in New York three years ago by the seller, who has since added 24k of the vehicle’s 55k miles. This Arnage R Diamond Series is offered with service records from current ownership, factory literature and accessories, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Peacock with tan pinstripes, and Diamond Series-specific equipment includes a chromed radiator shell with a ‘Flying B’ mascot, stainless steel matrix grilles, a Jewel fuel filler cap, chrome mirror caps, and Union Flag badges on the front fenders.
Factory 19″ chrome twin-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in Continental ContiProContact tires. The double-wishbone independent suspension featured an adaptive electro-hydraulic damping system from the factory.
The cabin is upholstered in Autumn Connolly leather with Diamond quilted inserts and ‘Flying B’ logos in the headrests. The dash, center console, and steering wheel are trimmed in Burr Oak veneers with Diamond quartered marquetry with maple inlays on the upper door panels. Additional amenities include heated and power-adjustable front seats with position memory for both occupants, an electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, rear picnic tables, and door sill plates identifying the vehicle as one of 60 Diamond Series cars produced. The front window regulators were replaced in April 2017.
Instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates just under 55k miles, of which approximately 24k have been added by the seller.
The twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 was factory-rated at 450 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine was removed from the vehicle in February 2018 and fitted with a new camshaft, water pump, valve lifters, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, and more as outlined on a $29k invoice from J.C. Auto Repairs of Scarsdale, New York. The seller reports that an oil change was recently carried out.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with partial service records, two keys, and a pair of Bentley-branded umbrellas.
The July 2020 Carfax report indicates no accidents or other damage and displays events in California, Texas, Delaware, and New York.
