This 1976 BMW R90/6 was purchased new by the seller and shows 64k miles. It is powered by an 898cc opposed-twin paired with a five-speed transmission and shaft drive. It is finished in blue with a white Vetter Windjammer SS fairing and was recently serviced with a battery conditioning. This R90/6 is now offered at no reserve with service records, factory literature, a tool roll, removed parts, a pair of lockable saddlebags, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The bike features a blue finish that shows rub marks at the rear of the tank beneath the seat, and the roundel badges on the tank exhibit fading. A Windjammer SS front fairing with a tall windscreen is installed, and there is a crack in the fairing’s front leading edge. A Krauser rear luggage rack with lockable pannier cases is also included, and the plastic case covers are discolored. The aftermarket saddle shows splits on some stitches and a tear on the left side.
Spoked alloy wheels measure 19″ in diameter at the front and 18″ at the rear and are fitted with Continental Conti Twin K112 tires. Braking is handled by a single front disc and a leading shoe rear drum. The front master cylinder was replaced in 2004.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,500-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing 64k miles. Indicator lights are provided for the brakes, neutral gearbox position, generator, oil pressure, and turn signals. A knob on the fairing dashboard allows the rider to raise or lower the headlight position.
Power is provided by an 898cc boxer twin that was factory rated at 60 horsepower and 53 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheel via a five-speed transmission with shaft drive. The engine was formerly fitted with a Walus dual-plug ignition, and the seller removed those components in 2000. The removed system is included in this sale, and the seller states that the bike is due for an oil change.
A tool roll, owner’s manual, service center guide, and Vetter documentation, a fabric patch, and a vanity sticker are included in the sale, along with two sets of keys, a spare brake cable and the removed headlight, front reflectors, and turn signals.
