We weren’t married right out of high school, but I did have a Fiat X1/9, and we tried for a decade. Nada.
We went to China twice instead & came home with a couple of scared and underfed kids who are now teens and getting ready to take over the world. While I have other Porsches, I had to go find a Targa or two to make it all good…..now is all good and he is smiling!”

I turned 16 in ‘63 and convinced him that we needed a turbo charged Spyder, so he bought a new one in ‘64 – aqua in color, 4speed – I learned to drive a stick on that car (lots of yelling as I recall). That summer we decided to do a tour of eastern Canada and all was fine until we hit New Brunswick and the engine was way down…”
