This 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo coupe was completed in September 1986 and sold new in the San Francisco Bay Area. Finished in Grand Prix White over black, the car was equipped from the factory with an electric sunroof, height-adjustable sport seats, and body-color Fuchs wheels. The numbers-matching 3.3L turbocharged flat-six remains fitted and was removed in 2015 for a reseal and additional freshening, as outlined in the listing below. Service in January 2019 included replacing the fuel pumps, accessory belts, and battery. The car has also been fitted with a Porsche Classic Radio head unit, and it was acquired by the seller in February 2020. Now showing just 16,500 miles, this 911 Turbo is offered with an owner’s manual, tool roll, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Finished in Grand Prix White (908), the exterior features a power sunroof, “tea tray” rear spoiler, front chin spoiler, flared fenders, front fog lights, and stone guards ahead of the rear wheels. The paint is said to have been ceramic coated and is shown up close in the photo gallery below, as are images of the trim, lenses, and body panel VIN stickers.
Staggered-width 16” Fuchs wheels feature Grand Prix White centers and wear Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires measuring 205/55 up front and 245/45 out back. The right-rear wheel was touched up in 2015 during a service performed by Porsche Stevens Creek, and a new rear bumper seal was installed at that time. Four-piston brake calipers are paired with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors all around, and a brake fluid flush was performed in July 2020. A video tour of the exterior and interior and be viewed above.
The cabin features black partial-leather upholstery and factory sport seats with electric height adjustment. Additional factory equipment includes air conditioning, power windows and locks, and an alarm system. The sound system has been updated with a Porsche Classic Radio head unit that features Bluetooth capability and USB inputs.
Framed by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, VDO instrumentation includes a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset boost gauge in addition to a 170-mph speedometer and a quartz clock. Additional gauges monitor oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and oil level. The six-digit odometer shows 16,500 miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller.
A turbocharger and an air-to-air intercooler helped the 3.3-liter flat-six to produce a factory-rated output of 282 horsepower when new. The engine was removed by Porsche Stevens Creek in 2015 at 11,710 miles for servicing. The cylinder head studs were replaced along with the ignition coil, cam seals, timing chain cover gaskets, oil feed lines, fuel check valve, fuel accumulator, and engine insulation pad. New fuel pumps were installed in 2019 at 15k miles, as were new fuel pump relays, fuel lines, accessory belts, hood struts, and a battery. An oil change and multi-point inspection were performed by Porsche Stevens Creek in July 2020.
Case stamping *68H00110* is shown above and matches the engine number listed on the Porsche CoA.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 930/36 four-speed manual transaxle. The torsion-bar suspension system utilizes Bilstein dampers and anti-roll bars at front and rear.
The Porsche CoA lists the factory colors, powertrain numbers, and options. The latter are also reflected on the under-hood sticker, which is shown in the gallery below.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other issues and lists service and registration events in California and Colorado, including more than 20 mileage updates. The report also notes that the car passed a California emissions inspection in January 2020. A ride-along video is attached below.
