BaT Auction: 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider

This 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider is finished in red over tan leather and powered by a 3.4-liter DOHC V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car spent time in New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania before it was acquired by the seller in a May 2018 BaT auction, and work completed during current ownership has consisted of a throttle body and air intake cleaning as well as a refinishing of sticky buttons. Features include a black convertible top, fender-mounted Scuderia shield decals, a Nouvalari exhaust system, 18″ wheels from a 360 Modena, air conditioning, and an Alpine cassette player. This final-year 348 shows 57k miles and is offered with a top boot, removed factory wheels and exhaust system, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Rossa Corsa, and the car features pop-up headlights, door strakes, fender-mounted Scuderia shield decals, and a black convertible top that can be seen both raised and lowered. A scuff is present on the lower portion of the front spoiler and paint chips are visible on the forward surfaces. A top boot is included in the sale.

The 18” wheels were from a 360 Modena and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Scratches and curb rash can be seen on the left front wheel. The factory 17″ wheels are included with the car.

The cabin is upholstered in tan Connolly leather with matching carpets, and the upper dash and door panels are trimmed in contrasting black. Amenities include a gated shifter with a dogleg pattern, air conditioning, and an Alpine cassette player that resides behind a factory leather cover in the center stack. Sticky buttons were refinished during current ownership. The seller notes a crack near the ash tray and wear on the driver’s seat.

A three-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation that consists of a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 57k miles, of which approximately 3k have been added by the seller.

The longitudinally-mounted 3.4L quad-cam V8 features a flat-plane crankshaft and was factory-rated at 320 horsepower with 238 lb-ft of torque. A Nouvalari exhaust system and aftermarket catalytic converters were added during previous ownership. A throttle body and air intake cleaning along with an oil and filter change were carried out in 2019. The last engine-out belt service was performed in December 2013 at approximately 52k miles.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are available in the gallery below.

The September 2020 Carfax reports shows no accidents or other damage and displays emissions testing, registration, and service history in New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas. A walk-around and driving video can be viewed below.
