BaT Auction: 24k-Mile 1992 Acura NSX 5-Speed

This 1992 Acura NSX was originally delivered to Immke of Dayton in Centerville, Ohio and acquired by the seller in Michigan in 2007. The car is one of just 60 US-market examples finished in Formula Red over Ivory leather for the US market model year and is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip rear differential. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo. Now showing just 24k miles, this NSX is being offered with service records, an owner’s manual, copy of the window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The aluminum bodywork is finished in Formula Red and features a black fixed roof, automatic antenna, an integrated rear spoiler, pop-up headlamps, and side air intakes. Flaws noted by the seller include a paint chip in the driver-side fender, a dent in the front bumper, and a chip in the passenger-side rear fender liner.

Factory 15″ and 16″ alloy wheels are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires sized 205/50 up front and 225/50 out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with NSX-branded calipers. The brake fluid was reportedly changed in 2018.

The cabin features power-adjustable seats trimmed in Ivory leather with matching carpets, two-tone door panels, and a black dashboard. Amenities include power windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller states that the air conditioning has been converted to run R134a refrigerant, and a factory-optional car phone setup is installed. Wear on the driver’s seat bolster can be seen in the gallery.

A black leather-wrapped steering wheel frames factory instrumentation that includes a 9k-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and battery voltage. The six-digit odometer shows just under 24k miles, approximately 6k of which have been added by the seller over the last 13 years. A video tour of the interior is presented above, and a video of the instrument panel can be seen here.

The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. An oil and coolant change was performed in 2018 per the seller, who notes that the car is due for a timing belt service.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transaxle number is J4A4 –1005163, which falls within the range of transaxles affected by snap ring issues. The seller notes that the transmission fluid was changed in 2018. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays history in Ohio and Michigan through the most recent entry in 2009.

A walk-around tour is presented above, and a video of the engine running is viewable below .
