This 1972 Porsche 914 was modified by Gaswerks Garage of Paramus, New Jersey as a 914-6 GT tribute and was acquired by the current owner last year. Power is provided by a twin-plug 2.9-liter flat-six fitted with dual PMO carburetors and linked with a 901 five-speed manual transaxle. The car has been fitted with GT-style metal fender flares and repainted metallic gold, and additional equipment includes an adjustable Bilstein coilover suspension, Carrera brakes with vented rotors, a front-mounted oil cooler, an M&K exhaust system, staggered-width 15” Fuchs-style wheels, black leather seats with yellow stitching, and more. Approximately 200 miles have been added since completion of the build, and this 914 is now being offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title.
The body was fitted with metal GT-style fender flares prior to a repaint in metallic gold. Features include retractable headlights, fog lamps, a black removable roof panel, and chrome trim, driver-side mirror, and door handles.
The 15” Fuchs-style alloy wheels measure 7” in width up front and 9” out back, and are wrapped in Michelin TB15 tires. The car rides on adjustable Bilstein coilover suspension, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel Carrera disc brakes with vented rotors.
The cabin features twin bucket seats upholstered in ventilated black leather with yellow stitching along with custom door panels with leather pull-straps. The door sills and floorpans have been painted and aluminum floor boards have been added in the front footwells.
A black leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames a cadmium-plated instrument panel that houses a trio of VDO instrumentation including a central 10k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer was reset during the build and shows just over 200 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.9-liter flat-six was reportedly rebuilt by Gaswerks Garage and fitted with a twin-plug ignition system, a front-mounted oil cooler, Carillo pistons, dual 46mm PMO carburetors, stainless-steel fuel lines, and ARP head studs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 901 five-speed manual transaxle. An M&K exhaust system with equal-length headers has been added, and additional underbody images are available in the gallery below.
