BaT Auction: 18k-Mile 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder

This 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder is one of a limited number imported to Canada for the 2011 model year, and is finished in silver over black leather and Alcantara. Power is from a 3.4-liter flat-six mated to a seven-speed PDK transaxle, and additional features include weight-reducing measures, the Sport Chrono Package, a premium audio system, and a leather-covered dash. The seller acquired the car in summer 2019, and has since driven 4k of its 29k kilometers (~18k miles), while installing and subsequently removing aftermarket suspension, brake, and engine components and having an oil change performed in preparation for the sale. This 987.2 Boxster Spyder is offered in Canada with a removable soft top, a clean Carfax report, and British Columbia registration.

The Spyder featured weight-saving bodywork such as a dual-hump aluminum deck lid, aluminum door panels, and a removable bikini-style soft top in place of the motorized convertible version found on other Boxster models. Additional revisions include a reshaped front air dam, black mesh grilles, and a fixed rear lip spoiler. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with black side stripes, and clear stone guard film has been applied to the front bumper cover. Touch-ups are noted in gallery close-ups below.

Factory 19″ wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires showing 2016 date codes. Brakes feature red calipers and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. A suite of performance suspension and braking components were briefly installed before being removed by the seller, and new rear brake pads were fitted when the car was returned to stock. The seller states that a GT3 brake master cylinder remains installed, and Motul RBF600 brake fluid was reportedly added in January 2020.

Interior videos are provided above and here. Wide-backed sport seats are trimmed in leather with Alcantara inserts, and feature carbon-fiber shells as well as manual adjusters for additional weight savings. Black trim is accented by a body-colored center console in addition to red seatbelts and door pulls. A clear wind deflector is mounted between the twin roll hoops.

The doors and dash are also trimmed in leather, with the latter featuring a lap timer as part of the Sport Chrono Package. Variable chassis, engine management, and exhaust settings are chosen using buttons on the center stack. A three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters frames an unhooded instrument cluster featuring a central tachometer with a 7,400-rpm redline, a 300-kph speedometer, and an odometer showing 29k kilometers (~18k miles), 4k kilometers of which have been driven during the seller’s ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.4-liter 9A1 flat-six resides behind the rear trunk panels and features direct fuel injection. Factory output was 320 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque when new. An aftermarket intake and headers were recently removed, andaAn oil change was performed in October 2020. Additional storage is located in the front trunk.

A seven-speed PDK transaxle directs power to the rear wheels. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.

Options are listed on the build sheet above, which also notes a 2011 MSRP of $85k. Owner’s books and spare keys are also included in the sale.

The Carfax report indicates an accident-free history in several Canadian provinces. A video with the engine running is provided below, and additional footage on the seller’s Vimeo page includes a driving video showing the car in its previous modified configuration.
