This 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo is finished in black over a tan leather interior and is powered by a numbers-matching turbocharged 3.3L flat-six paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The seller purchased the car from a long-term owner in Connecticut in 2012 and relocated the car to North Carolina. Equipment includes an electric sunroof, 17″ Rotiform wheels, a MOMO steering wheel, a JVC CD stereo, a Wevo shifter, a Fabspeed stainless exhaust system with dual outlets, twin-plug cylinder heads, and an aftermarket alloy intercooler. This 930 Turbo is now offered with an owner’s manual, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in black and features a power-operated sunroof, front and rear spoilers, impact bumpers, front fog lamps, and a rear wiper. The seller notes that the quarter panels appear to have been refinished. A video showing paint meter readings around the body can be seen here.
17×9″ front and 17×11″ rear Rotiform Fuchs-style wheels feature black centers and polished lips and are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta XS tires measuring 235/45 up front and 315/35 out back. Braking is handled by cross-drilled and ventilated discs at all four corners.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching door panels, beige carpets, and a two-tone black and tan dash. Modifications include drilled pedal pads, a JVC CD stereo, and a Wevo shifter with a 917-style knob. The air-conditioning system was retrofitted for R134a refrigerant and charged in October 2020.
A MOMO Indy steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a rotated 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil pressure, temperature, and turbocharger boost. The six-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller since 2012.
The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six was reportedly modified by Daniel Jacobs, LLC of Southbury, Connecticut, during previous ownership and features twin-plug cylinder heads, a Garretson aluminum intercooler, a 3.2L intake manifold, and a Motec engine management system. According to the seller, an oil change and transmission fluid exchange were performed by Road Scholars of Durham, North Carolina, in 2019. The results of a compression test performed in October 2020 can be seen in the gallery below.
The engine stamping reads *6890071* and matches the number noted on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. A Fabspeed exhaust system and stainless heat exchangers are fitted.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists factory colors, equipment, and identification numbers.
The seller has provided a start-up video above and a driving video below. Additional videos can be seen on this YouTube channel.
