BaT Auction: 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super Bollino d’Oro

This 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super is a French-market Bollino d’Oro example that was purchased by the current owner’s late husband in 1994. The car is finished in red over a black vinyl interior, and power comes from a replacement 1,750cc twin-cam four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include brakes sourced from a 2.0-liter Alfa Romeo, GTA-style adjustable camber arms, Bilstein front and rear Koni Yellow adjustable shocks, and replacement seats. This Giulia is now offered on behalf of the current owner in the Netherlands with a clean Dutch title.

The car was previously finished in white before a bare-metal repaint was reportedly performed in Alfa Rosso (AR501) during the current family’s ownership. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, dual side-view mirrors, Bollino d’Oro-specific stainless trim and gold C-pillar badges, as well as a trunk lid sourced from a later Giulia. The condition of the finish can be seen up close in the gallery below.

Vented 15″ steel wheels are fitted with Alfa Romeo hubcaps and are mounted with 165/80 Toyo 330 tires. A matching spare wheel is fitted under the trunk floor. GTA-style adjustable camber arms are fitted along with front Bilstein and rear Koni Yellow adjustable shocks. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs sourced from a 2.0-liter Alfa Romeo.

The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl with a matching headliner and carpets as well as wood dashboard veneers. The front bucket seats and rear bench were installed during current ownership, and a radio is fitted in the dash.

The three-spoke steering wheel is shared with the contemporary Sprint GT Veloce and frames Veglia instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a centrally mounted clock, and a 200-km/h speedometer. Just over 3,600 kilometers (~2k miles) are shown on the five-digit odometer. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1,750cc twin-cam four features twin Weber 40DCOE carburetors, and was reportedly blueprinted and built by Ardash Tuning approximately 350 kilometers ago.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. New synchros are reportedly installed.
