This 1976 Porsche 911S coupe was purchased new by the current owner from Hayes Porsche & Audi in El Paso, Texas and now shows 86k miles. The car is finished in Platinum Metallic over a Cinnamon leatherette interior, and power is from a 2.7-liter flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ wheels, air conditioning, an oil cooler, MSD electronic ignition, and a Sony cassette stereo. The fuel system was refreshed in October 2019, and additional recommissioning consisted of replacing the battery, sway bar bushings, and valve cover gaskets. This 911S is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with service records, owner’s manuals, removed factory parts, a Porsche Product Specifications certificate, an original sales invoice, and a clean Texas title.
The body is finished in Platinum Metallic (LM8U) and features US-spec “sugar-scoop” chrome headlight rings, a body-colored driver-side mirror, and rear bumperettes. Fading on the hood, roof, rear quarter panels, and rear decklid is shown up-close in the gallery below.
Factory 15″ cast-aluminum “cookie cutter” wheels are wrapped in Yokohama YK420 sized 195/65. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The rear sway bar bushings were replaced in October 2019.
The front seats are upholstered in Cinnamon leatherette with tweed inserts, while the rear seats are trimmed in standard vinyl. Amenities include air conditioning, Coco mats, and an aftermarket Sony cassette stereo.
An aftermarket steering wheel fronts a centrally mounted tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a six-digit odometer that shows 86k miles. The current owner states factory steering wheel was removed in 1976 after purchase and is included in the sale.
The fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six was rated at 157 horsepower with 166 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. An aftermarket air conditioning compressor has been added, along with an oil cooler, an MSD ignition system, and K&N air filter. The fuel pump, filter, accumulator, and lines were replaced in October 2020 by Porsche El Paso. A new battery was also installed, and oil leaks were addressed with new valve cover gaskets, though outlying leaks are noted.
Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
The original invoice shows a total price of $16,710. Service records, owner’s manuals, and two keys are also included in the sale.
The Porsche Product Specifications certificate shows factory colors, optional equipment, and a production completion date of June 1976.
