This 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is one of 410 examples built for the US market during a two-year production run, and was delivered new to Ed Carroll Motor Co. in Fort Collins, Colorado. The car is fnished in orange over black leather and Alcantara, and power is from a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes factory 19″ wheels, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, bi-xenon headlights, the Sport Chrono Package, automatic climate control, and PCM 2.1 with navigation. The car was acquired by the seller in 2017, and service in January 2021 included changes of the oil, filters, brake fluid, and serpentine belt. This 997.1 GT3 RS has 14k miles and is offered at no reserve in California with service records, a DME over-rev report, owner’s manuals, spare keys, a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The RS was a track-focused variant of the 997.1 GT3 distinguished by wider bodywork, a carbon-fiber rear wing, and model-specific badging. This example is finished in extra-cost orange with black graphics, mirrors, and twin center-exit exhaust pipes. Paint protection film from Xpel was applied to the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights, and door cups in 2017. Close-up photos of the finish and trim as well as paint meter readings provided in the gallery below. A walk-around video can be viewed here.
Black staggered-width 19″ wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with 2019 date codes. Porsche Active Suspension Management was standard equipment, and the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system features yellow six- and four-piston calipers. New brake pads were reportedly installed in October 2019, and a fluid flush was performed in January 2021.
The cockpit features bolstered sport seats trimmed in black leather with Alcantara inserts and orange stitchwork as well as matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, the Sport Chrono Package, and PCM 2.1 with navigation. The cabin filter was reportedly replaced in January 2021.
An Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel frames a central GT3-branded tachometer with an 8,400-rpm redline, a 225-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil temperature, water temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows just over 13,500 miles, 3k of which have been added by the seller.
The 3.6-liter M97/76 flat-six features titanium connecting rods, VarioCam variable valve timing, a 12.0:1 compression ratio, and dry-sump lubrication. Power output was factory-rated at 415 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was carried out and the spark plugs, serpentine belt, and air filter are said to have been replaced in January 2021. DME over-rev numbers and other diagnostic readouts are provided in the gallery below. A start-up video can be viewed here.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a standard asymmetric limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows standard and optional equipment along with an original MSRP of $149,290. Manufacturer’s literature and service records are shown in the gallery.
The Carfax report indicates no accidents or other damage and displays history in Colorado, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, and Montana. A driving video and aerial footage is provided below.
