This 1959 King Midget Model III was refurbished during previous ownership and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2020. The car is finished in white with a tan convertible soft top over tan upholstery and is powered by a 23ci Wisconsin single-cylinder engine paired with a two-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes steel wheels, four-wheel hydraulic brakes, front and rear bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and removable side curtains. This King Midget is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Oklahoma title.
The King Midget was built in Athens, Ohio, and features a welded steel unit-body. This example was refinished in white with gold pinstripes and graphics during a refurbishment performed prior to the selling dealer’s 2020 acquisition. The removable tan soft top is accompanied by side curtains, and equipment includes headlights and taillights, turn signals, a single driver-side windshield wiper, a driver-side mirror, painted wheel arches, and front and rear bumpers with red accents.
White-painted 8″ steel wheels are fitted with mixed tires. The car was factory equipped with four-wheel hydraulic brakes that were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment.
The cabin features a bench seat reupholstered in tan with cloth inserts and matching door panels. Tan carpets line the floors.
The white two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 60-mph speedometer and an ammeter. The five-digit odometer shows 953 miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The rear-mounted air-cooled 23ci Wisconsin single was rated at 9.2 horsepower when new. The engine is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt two-speed automatic transmission with reverse.
