BaT Auction: 1972 Honda CB100 at No Reserve

This 1972 Honda CB100 is powered by a 99cc single mated to a five-speed transmission and finished in white, red, and black with chrome fenders. Equipment consists of street lighting, a two-up seat, and 18″ wire-spoke wheels. The bike was acquired by the seller in September 2020 and subsequently serviced with an oil change, a valve clearance check, and fuel tank repairs. The petcock, side covers, and seat were also replaced along with the taillight lens. This CB100 is offered with a clean Montana title in the seller’s name.

The fuel tank and replacement side covers are finished in white with red and black accents, while the fenders are chrome. The two-up seat and fuel petcock have been replaced along with the taillight lens and bulb. The fuel tank underwent internal repairs and sealing according to the seller, who also notes dents in its right side and states that a crack in one replacement side cover was repaired. Amenities include a passenger grab strap, street lighting and reflectors, and both center and side stands.

Chrome wire-spoke 18″ wheels wear period-style tires. Suspension consists of a covered conventional fork as well as dual chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is from integrated drums at both ends. A walk-around video as well as those showing the fuel tank repair and the bike without its bodywork have been provided by the seller.

Instrumentation consists of an 80-mph speedometer that displays recommended shift points and is noted as being dirty behind its glass. The five-digit odometer shows 1k miles, a handful of which have been ridden by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 99cc four-stroke single produced 12 horsepower when new and drives the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a chain. Service in December 2020 consisted of an oil change and a valve clearance check. A six-volt AGM battery has been fitted, and a cold-start video can be viewed below.
