BaT Auction: 24k-Mile 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello

This 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello was special-ordered in red over a two-tone cream and red interior and was delivered new to Ferrari of Beverly Hills, California. Power comes from a 5.5-liter quad-cam V12 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, and features include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, Ferrari-branded CD stereo, power windows, Scuderia fender shields, a Tubi exhaust, and power-adjustable Daytona-style seats. The seller acquired the car approximately 14 years ago, and maintenance performed in January 2021 included an oil change along with a transmission service and brake inspection. This 550 Maranello shows just under 24k miles and is being offered in Murrieta, California with a tool kit, a copy of the window sticker, a factory DVD and owner’s manuals, service records from current ownership, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The Pininfarina-designed aluminum bodywork was ordered in the “out-of-range” color of Rosso Monza, and features include front and rear lip spoilers, a hood scoop, integrated front fog lights, vents on each front fender, Scuderia fender shields, and quad exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance.

The 18” alloy wheels feature Prancing Horse center and valve stem caps and are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Rosso MO tires that were reportedly installed in January 2021 and are sized 255/40 up front and 295/35 out back. Stopping power is provided by red-painted calipers with black Ferrari script paired with cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. A brake inspection was performed in January 2021.

The cabin features power-adjustable Daytona-style seats trimmed in cream leather with red piping, as well as a matching quilted rear luggage shelf, door panels, a two-tone dashboard, and red carpets protected by Prancing Horse-branded mats. Amenities include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, a Ferrari-branded stereo with a CD changer, aluminum pedals, and power windows. The seller reports that various sticky buttons have been addressed.

A red leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer and 10k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. A trio of auxiliary instrumentation in the center stack includes an analog clock as well as displays for oil temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 24k miles, approximately 8k of which have been added by the seller.

The 5.5-liter Tipo F133 V12 features quad overhead camshafts and was factory-rated at 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. The timing belt was replaced and Hill Engineering tensioners were installed at 23k miles per the seller. More recent maintenance performed in January 2021 by RMT Motorsports of Yorba Linda, California included an oil change, a differential service, and a transmission fluid service.

A Tubi exhaust system has been installed, and additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below. The removed exhaust will accompany the vehicle.

Factory manuals and a tool kit supplied in leather cases are included in the sale.

The window sticker shows the factory colors and options along with a total suggested retail price of $228,852.

The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage and displays history in California, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Montana through the most recent entry in June 2018.
