This 1991 Ferrari Testarossa was originally delivered to Ferrari of Houston and was purchased new by its late owner. The car shows just over 3k miles and is finished in Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior. Power is supplied by a 4.9-liter flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and modifications include an Alpine car alarm, a K40 radar detector, and a Pioneer CD player. This Testarossa is now offered on behalf of the late owner’s wife in Arizona with a window sticker, factory books, tools, a car cover, period literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in Rosso Corsa and features side strakes, fog lamps, pop-up headlights, and body-color side-view mirrors. The rear decklid was repainted to correct chips by Ferrari of Scottsdale in December 2011. The front lip is cracked, an area of touch-up paint is noted on the hood, and there are paint chips on the driver-side strakes. Condition of the finish can be seen up close in the gallery.
The 16″ five-spoke wheels feature prancing horse center caps and are mounted with 225/50 front and 255/50 rear Goodyear Eagle ZR50 tires. Curb rash is noted on the right-front wheel, and the tires should be replaced due to age.
The seats and door panels are trimmed in beige Connolly leather with matching carpets, while the dashboard, center console, and armrests are upholstered in brown. Features include power windows, air conditioning, and a gated shifter with a dogleg five-speed pattern. An Alpine car alarm, a K40 radar detector, and a Pioneer CD player were fitted by the late owner. The passenger seatbelt system was replaced in 2004, and the air conditioning was recharged with R12 refrigerant in 2013. Wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster and a tear by the seat belt mount can be seen in the gallery below.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel features a prancing horse horn button and frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows just over 3k miles.
The 4.9-liter flat-12 features 48 valves, Marelli Microplex ignition control, and Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection for a factory-rated output of 385 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 361 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. An engine-out service was reportedly performed at 2,600 miles in May 2004 and included new timing belts, filters, gaskets, and spark plugs. A new battery, fuel distributor, fuel pump, and oil seals are said to have been fitted in 2011, and a new radiator cap was installed in 2013, at which time the most recent oil change was performed.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows delivery to Ferrari of Houston and lists a total suggested retail price of $175,950.
The Carfax report shows registration in Texas from July 1991 to June 2020 and lists no accidents or other damage.
