This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a fuel-injected 327ci V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission and was refinished in maroon over a black interior, reportedly in the 2000s under previous ownership. The car is said to have been stored since its 2018 acquisition by the current owner, and an oil change was carried out in fall 2020. This C1 is offered by the seller on behalf of his brother with a matching hardtop and a clean New Jersey title.
The fiberglass body is said to have been repainted in its current metallic maroon with matching coves in the 2000s. Details include painted headlamp bezels, chrome fender spears, faux fender vents, bright rocker trim, and Fuel Injection badges. A removable body-colored fiberglass hardtop is included in the sale.
The black convertible top retracts manually and stows beneath the bodywork when not in use. Black 15″ steel wheels wear polished covers with faux knock-off spinners and are mounted with Goodyear Polyglas bias-ply whitewall tires. A walk-around video has been provided by the seller.
Black vinyl upholstery covers bucket seats faired into the soft top cover. Ribbed vinyl floor mats protect black carpets, and the shifter is topped with a cueball knob. A clock and Wonderbar radio are mounted in the center stack.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames black gauges including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 86k miles, and actual mileage is unknown.
The 327ci small-block V8 is equipped with a Rochester fuel injection unit with part number 7017360, and is shown being started in the video above. Engine serial number and machine stamps are pictured in the gallery below. An oil change took place in August 2020.
A four-speed manual transmission directs power to the solid rear axle located by two leaf springs and a sway bar. Additional underbody pictures can be viewed in the gallery, and driving videos are provided below.
