BaT Auction: 1989 Chevrolet Blazer Silverado 4×4

This 1989 Chevrolet Blazer Silverado 4×4 is finished in two-tone Fire Red and Sunset Gold over tan cloth, and power is provided by a fuel-injected 350ci V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a removable gold hardtop, an AM/FM cassette stereo, air conditioning, silver-finished 15” wheels with polished trim, power windows, and power-assisted steering and brakes. The truck is said to have remained with its original owner through 2020, and it was recently acquired by the selling dealer. Subsequent work included refinishing the gold trim, the hood, and the inner tailgate, an oil change, and replacement of the carpets, tires, ball joints, shocks, and exhaust components. This K5 Blazer is now offered in Florida with factory literature, two sets of keys, an accident-free Carfax report and a clean New Mexico title.

The exterior is finished in two-tone Fire Red and Sunset Gold, and following their acquisition of the truck the selling dealer had the hood, inside of the tailgate, and gold portions refinished. Photos showing the condition of the paintwork prior to refinishing are provided in the gallery below, along with images of the hardtop removed.

Silver-finished 15″ wheels with polished trim are mounted with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires displaying 2020 date codes, while a full-size spare is located in the cargo area. Locking hubs are equipped up front, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs with rear drums. The shocks and front ball joints were reportedly replaced during current ownership.

The cabin features bolstered front seats and a rear bench trimmed in Saddle fabric with contrasting darker dashboard and door panel trim. The carpeting was replaced during current ownership, and rubber mats line the footwells. Additional amenities include a locking center console, an AM/FM cassette stereo, air conditioning, and power windows.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and battery voltage. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over once and now shows under 20k miles, approximately 400 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci fuel-injected V8 sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a column-shifted four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a dual-range transfer case. An oil and filter change was performed in anticipation of the sale.

The exhaust system and differential oil was replaced during current ownership, and additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration, emissions, and service history in New Mexico between June 1989 and its most recent update August 2020. A potential odometer rollback is listed in July 2008.
