This 1989 Saab 900 SPG is finished in black over gray leather and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 16″ Aero wheels, a rear spoiler, heated seats, and a sunroof. The car was acquired by the seller in December 2020, and subsequent service has reportedly included changing the oil and transmission fluid and replacing the headliner, exhaust system, spark plugs, and distributor cap. This 900 SPG is now offered at no reserve with a selection of spares, a Carfax report, and a Rebuilt Washington title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in black with gray lower cladding and features a rear spoiler, sunroof wind deflector, and smoked side markers. The Carfax report notes a 1998 accident resulting in damage to the front of the vehicle and lists subsequent Salvage and Rebuilt titles issued by Pennsylvania and Washington. The seller states that the hood and cowl have been replaced and notes a worn key and warped body cladding. Amber side markers, a set of fog lights, and a “whale tail” rear spoiler are reportedly included in the sale.
16″ three-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/50 Nokian tires that show 2017 date codes.
The cabin is upholstered in gray and features heated leather-trimmed front seats, a sunroof, and power accessories. The automatic seatbelts were replaced with standard three-point belts from an earlier 900, and the headliner and door panel inserts have been refreshed. The air conditioning does not work, and noted flaws include wear on the driver seat, cracks in the dashboard, faded trunk lining, a faulty cassette player, missing sunroof upholstery, disconnected rear speakers, and an illuminated seatbelt warning light due to the conversion. The left window motor and the hatch struts have reportedly been replaced under current ownership, and a set of Saab all-weather floor mats is included with the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 125-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge for fuel level, coolant temperature, and boost pressure. Gauges for voltage, oil pressure, and outside temperature are mounted in the center console. The six-digit odometer shows 105k miles. Total mileage is unknown. A video of the radio operation is provided above.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four is reportedly equipped with a Skandix 2.5″ stainless steel turbo-back exhaust system. Service performed under current ownership has reportedly included changing the oil and replacing the air filter, distributor cap, distributor oil seal, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. The seller states that the drive belts and vacuum lines were replaced in preparation for the sale. The air-conditioning compressor belt was removed.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The transmission fluid was reportedly changed in preparation for the sale. A video of the underside is provided above.
The Carfax report notes the aforementioned damage and branded titles. History is listed in Pennsylvania and Washington through the most recent entry in December 2020.
