BaT Auction: 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4×4 at No Reserve

This 1991 Jeep Cherokee was delivered new to Pro Jeep-Eagle in Thornton, Colorado, and was acquired by the seller two years after it was listed in a December 2018 BaT auction. The truck is finished in Spinnaker Blue Metallic over gray cloth and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes fog lights, a receiver hitch, cruise control, anti-lock brakes, and power accessories. This XJ shows 100k miles and is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Spinnaker Blue Metallic and features red pinstriping and gray lower cladding. Additional exterior details include chrome side mirrors, fog lights, and a receiver hitch. The seller notes that the power antenna does not work. A walk-around video can be viewed here.

Five-spoke 15″ wheels wear 215/75 Michelin Defender tires showing 2017 date codes. A non-matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the rear cargo area. The truck is equipped with optional four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and the springs and shocks were reportedly replaced under previous ownership. Leafs were removed from the replacement rear springs and are included in the sale.

The cabin features gray cloth and vinyl seats along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, an overhead console, and power accessories. The installed XM radio module is included in the sale.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 7k-rpm tachometer, an 85-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 100k miles, approximately 1,800 of which were added by the seller. The fuel gauge was reportedly replaced under previous ownership and reads inaccurately.

The 4.0-liter inline-six was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the fuel pump was replaced under previous ownership, and the oil was changed in October 2020. There is an oil leak at the valve cover gasket.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is visible on some underside components, and additional images can be viewed in the gallery.

The window sticker lists factory colors, optional equipment, and a total price of $22,744.

The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage and shows history in California and Colorado beginning in 1996.

A start-up video is presented above, and a walk-around clip can be viewed below.
