BaT Auction: 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300TE 4Matic Wagon at No Reserve

This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300TE is a Japanese-market example finished in Midnight Blue over blue cloth and powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six driving all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes roof rails, a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, power windows, a rear-facing third row seat, dual-zone climate control, and an added CD stereo with Bluetooth. The car was imported to the United States after being purchased by the seller in September 2020. This S124 shows 171k kilometers (~106k miles) and is offered at no reserve with owner’s manuals, Japanese service records, import documentation, a clean Carfax report, and a clean West Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Midnight Blue (904) with blue lower body cladding and features aftermarket HID headlights, headlight wipers, clear front turn signal lenses, roof rails, and a sunroof. Peeling clear coat is visible on the driver-side mirror, and the seller notes fading and touch-ups on the hood.

This is a re-list after the vehicle previously sold on BaT in February 2021 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

Eight-hole 15″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/65 Michelin Energy Saver tires displaying 2013 and 2014 date codes. The brake fluid was flushed in January 2019, and the seller notes that one of the front CV axle boots is torn.

The left-hand-drive cabin is upholstered in textured blue cloth, and wear is visible on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats, Zebrano wood trim, power windows, and an added CD stereo with Bluetooth. The seller indicates that the power-adjustable front headrests do not work.

The airbag-equipped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 240-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer displays just under 171k kilometers (~106k miles), approximately 150 of which have been added by the seller.

The folding third-row seat is accessed through the rear hatch, and the cargo area is also equipped with a roll-up divider net.

The 3.0-liter M103 inline-six features Bosch CIS-E fuel injection and was factory rated at 177 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. Japanese service records totaling approximately ¥2M (~$19k USD) are provided in the image gallery below.

Power is routed to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Additional photos of the underbody are provided in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows a title was issued for the car in West Virginia in January 2021.

A cold-start video is presented above, and walk-around and driving footage is provided below.
