BaT Auction: 2000 BMW 323i Sport Wagon 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 2000 BMW 323i Sport Wagon was first sold by Harloff BMW of Encinitas, California, and remained in the state with its original owner until January 2021. The car is finished in Sahara Beige Metallic over beige leatherette and powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes cruise control, automatic climate control, wood trim, a cassette stereo, and roof rails. It was recently acquired by the selling dealer, and service performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change and air-conditioning system recharge as well as replacement of the blower fan, cabin air filter, and front control arm bushings. This E46 wagon shows 88k miles and is offered in Florida at no reserve with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a handwritten maintenance log, two sets of keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The exterior is finished in Sahara Beige Metallic (443) and features a rear window wiper, roof rails, and black side and bumper moldings. Close-up photos of the paintwork and trim are provided in the gallery below.

16″ alloy wheels wear 205/55 Bridgestone Turanza tires that show 2019 date codes and were recently mounted by the selling dealer in preparation for sale. The front control arm bushings were replaced by the selling dealer.

The interior features Sand leatherette upholstery on the seating surfaces and door panel inserts, while the two-tone dashboard is accented by myrtle wood trim that extends to the doors and center console. Amenities include automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and power windows. The passenger-side airbag was replaced in 2020 as part of a manufacturer recall campaign, and the left-rear window regulator was also replaced in 2020. The selling dealer states that service performed in preparation for the sale included replacement of the blower fan and a recharge of the air-conditioning system.

Instrumentation behind the multi-function steering wheel includes a 155-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a digital odometer indicating approximately 88k miles.

The 2.5-liter M54 inline-six was factory rated at 170 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The coolant expansion tank was replaced along with the coolant in June 2020, and the selling dealer performed an oil change and replaced the cabin and air-intake filters.

Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Harloff BMW, equipment and colors, and a total suggested retail price of $31,220. Manufacturer’s literature, recent service records, a handwritten maintenance log, and two sets of keys are also included with the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California from a single registered owner through its most recent entry in January 2021. A video featuring a walk-around is presented below.
