BaT Auction: 292-Mile 2005 Chevrolet SSR 6-Speed at No Reserve

This 2005 Chevrolet SSR is finished in Smokin Asphalt over Ebony leather and is powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include a retractable roof, a wood-trimmed cargo compartment, chrome-plated wheels, auxiliary gauges, and a Belltech lowering kit as well as the optional 1SB Premium Equipment Group, which added heated seats, a Bose premium sound system, auto-dimming mirrors, and the Memory Package. The car was first delivered to Gross Motors in Neillsville, Wisconsin, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in February 2021 out of Ohio from its reported second owner of eight years. This SSR now has just under 300 miles and is offered at no reserve with a window sticker, pre-delivery inspection paperwork, removed parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title.

Featuring styling inspired from the post-war Chevrolet Advance Design family of trucks, the SSR is built on a modified version of the GMT360 platform shared with the contemporary TrailBlazer SUV. This example is finished in Smokin Asphalt, and features include power adjustable and heated mirrors as well as a retractable steel hardtop that stows under a fixed panel between the cabin and pickup box.

Optional chrome-finished wheels measure 19″ up front and 20″ out back, and they are fitted with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires measuring 255/45 and 295/40, respectively. A Belltech lowering kit has been installed, and the removed factory suspension components are included in the sale.

Black carpeting lines the rear cargo bed, which is accented with optional wood strips and covered by a body-colored hard tonneau cover.

Cabin finishes include Ebony leather covering the heated and power-adjustable seats, silver trim accents on the dashboard and door panels, and a center console color-matched to the exterior. Additional Preferred Equipment Group amenities include the Memory Package, Homelink, a Bose premium audio system with an in-dash CD changer, and auto-dimming mirrors, and the truck is also equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows.

The leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. Less than 300 miles are shown on the digital odometer.

The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 was factory rated at 390 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a Torsen limited-slip differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio.

Numerous photos are provided in the gallery showing the underside, drivetrain, and exhaust components.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Gross Motors, optional equipment and features, and a total vehicle price of $48,665. Pre-delivery paperwork and the removed stock suspension components are included in the sale.

The Carfax report lists no accidents or damage and shows history in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan through its most recent entry in March 2021.

Walk-around footage with the engine idling is presented above, and additional footage is viewable below.
