BaT Auction: 1993 Ford Ranger XLT 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 1993 Ford Ranger XLT is a regular-cab, short-bed model that remained with its original owner in California before being acquired by the seller earlier this year. Now showing 71k miles, the truck is finished in Lapis Metallic over blue cloth and is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes bucket seats, air conditioning, manual windows, and a cassette radio. Maintenance performed in March 2021 included replacing the oxygen sensor and refreshing the shifter assembly. This Ranger is now offered at no reserve in Los Angeles with an owner’s manual, recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Bodywork is finished in Lapis Metallic (KE) and features blue and purple pinstripes. Equipment includes a sliding rear window, chrome bumpers, rear mud flaps, and a black rubber bed mat. Scratches are noted in the bed, and other finish flaws are pointed out in the gallery below, which also shows the paint in varied lighting conditions.

Factory 15″ wheels are wrapped in Kelly Safari AWR tires. Braking is handled by discs up front and drums out back.

The cabin is trimmed in blue and features cloth bucket seats with patterned inserts and a folding center armrest. Additional amenities include cupholders, a factory cassette radio, manual-wind windows, floor mats, and air conditioning. The shifter seat and boot were replaced in March 2021. The seller notes discoloration on the driver’s seat.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer that shows over 71k miles, around 200 of which were added during current ownership.

The 2.3-liter SOHC inline-four was rated from the factory for 98 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. A new battery was installed in October 2020, and the oxygen sensor was replaced in March 2021. An oil change was also carried out at that time and the truck passed a California emissions test.

Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery. The seller notes the presence of a leak from the transmission.

The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage and shows history in California with two owners.
