BaT Auction: 49k-Mile 2001 BMW M Coupe S54

This 2001 BMW M Coupe is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over black Nappa leather and powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a sunroof, air conditioning, 17″ alloy wheels, heated sport seats, and a CD stereo hooked to a Harman Kardon sound system. The car was first registered in Nevada and spent time in Oregon, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, and Maryland, where it was acquired by the selling dealer in December 2020. It now shows under 49k miles, and recent service included replacement of the rear-view mirror and battery as well as an oil change. This M Coupe is now offered in Maryland with a clean Carfax report and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The exterior is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic and features tinted windows, a tilting sunroof, fender vents, a rear wiper, and polished quad exhaust tips. Photos showing VIN-stamped stickers are provided in the gallery below.

Style 40 17″ ‘Roadstar’ wheels are fitted with Toyo Proxes 4 tires, and the car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control.

The cabin features heated sport seats upholstered in black Nappa leather, along with matching carpets protected by M-branded floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and a BMW Business CD stereo paired with a Harman Kardon sound system. A replacement rear-view mirror was recently installed, and the air-conditioning system was serviced in July 2019.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel with tri-color stitching frames a 170-mph speedometer and a 9k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional gauges are mounted in the center stack. The odometer indicates just under 49k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six is equipped with individual throttle bodies and was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An oil change was performed and a replacement battery was installed in preparation for the sale.

Additional photos of the underside are available in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, and Maryland from 2001 through its most recent entry in December 2020.
