This 1978 Leyland Moke Californian is a right-hand-drive example that was imported from Australia to the US in January 1983 and acquired by its current owner in 2001. The car is powered by a 998cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and features front disc brakes, front and rear tube bumpers, 13″ Sunrasia wheels, and a removable front grille as well as high-backed seats covered in blue denim-look fabric. This Moke is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a matching soft top and side curtains, service records, period import documentation, and a clean Utah title describing it as a 1969 Austin Mini Moke.
The car is finished in white and features front and rear “roo bars,” Californian graphics on the hood, a removable front grille, wind deflectors, rubber fender extensions, rear mud flaps, and a convertible top frame. The latter can be fitted with a denim soft top and matching side curtains, which exhibit signs of age and weathering.
White 13″ Sunrasia steel wheels wear chrome beauty rings and 155/80 Sailun Atrezzo tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the rear suspension features longer trailing arms for increased ground clearance in comparison to the standard Moke.
High-back front seats and the rear bench are upholstered in denim-look cloth. Passenger amenities include an AM/FM/cassette radio, sun visors, and rubber floor mats. The seller notes corrosion on the floorboards.
A three-spoke Intersport steering wheel fronts a dash with two storage shelves as well as central Smiths instrumentation including a 150-km/h speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 59k kilometers (~37k miles), of which approximately 2k kilometers have been added by the current owner.
The 998cc inline-four produced 40 horsepower when new and drives the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
