This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SEC is finished in black over Palomino leather, and power is provided by a 3.8-liter M116 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, a Clarion stereo, and chrome-finished 14″ Gullideckel wheels. The current owner acquired the car in April 2012 and is said to have since performed a double-row timing chain conversion. Now showing just over 68k miles, this C126 is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature, sheepskin seat covers, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title.
The C126 featured a pillarless design with fully retracting side windows, and this example is finished in black (040). Features include dark gray lower cladding, a powered sunroof, and a polished mirror housings. Close-up photos of the body, lenses, and trim are provided in the gallery below.
Chrome-finished 14″ Gullideckel alloy wheels wear a set of 205/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Palomino leather (254) with matching plastics and carpets as well as wood veneers on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Equipment includes an electric sunroof, power windows, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a Clarion AM/FM/cassette stereo. Sheepskin covers are fitted over the front seats, which are shown partially removed in the photo gallery below. The seller notes the forward and back functions of the driver seat are inoperative.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and an analog clock along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 68k miles, approximately 15k of which were added by the current owner.
