This 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SL was acquired by the seller in 1991 and is finished in Champagne Metallic over tan MB-Tex. Power is provided by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a removable hardtop, a brown soft top, fog lights, cruise control, and an Alpine cassette stereo. Service performed in preparation for the sale has reportedly included cleaning the fuel tank and replacing the fuel pump, sun visors, and door seals. This 450SL is now offered with removed parts, manufacturer’s literature, a hardtop storage rack, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Champagne Metallic with brown and gray pin-striping. Exterior details include a removable body-color hardtop, a brown soft top, and fog lights. 14″ “Bundt wheels wear 175/75 Goodyear Integrity tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features tan MB-Tex seats along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes cruise control, power accessories, and an Alpine cassette player. Noted flaws include a tear in the headliner and non-functioning air conditioning. The removed Becker radio is included with the sale.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 115k miles, approximately 11k of which were added by the seller. The temperature, oil pressure, and fuel-level gauges have been replaced, and the removed factory instrumentation is included with the sale.
The 4.5-liter M117 V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have included cleaning the fuel tank and replacing the fuel pump.
