BaT Auction: Modified 1979 Chevrolet K10 Silverado 4×4

This 1979 Chevrolet K10 Silverado is a standard-cab long-bed pickup that was acquired by the seller in 2016. The truck is finished in silver and black and powered by a replacement 350ci V8 paired with a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A refurbishment including a repaint, replacement exterior trim, and a reupholstered interior was reportedly completed in 2019, and additional features include a Tuff Country 4″ suspension lift, Holley fuel injection, a Retrosound Bluetooth stereo, and more as detailed below. This K10 is now offered in Arizona with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The truck has been refinished in two-tone black and silver and features a solid-pane rear window, a brushed-metal accent panel on the tailgate, polished trim, and multi-color vinyl hood stripes. The refurbishment reportedly included replacing the trim, front grille, and emblems, and close-up photos of the body panels can be viewed in the gallery.

15″ wheels feature polished trim rings and are mounted with 35×12.50″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. A full-size spare is mounted behind the rear axle. The truck is equipped with front disc brakes, and the suspension has been modified with a Tuff Country 4″ lift.

An interior refresh was reportedly carried out in 2019. Work included replacing the headliner and carpets and reupholstering the bench seat in white vinyl. Features include a Retrosound Bluetooth stereo, Alpine speakers, and a Holley EFI control module mounted beneath the dashboard. The seller notes cracks in the dashboard.

The two-spoke steering wheel has been wrapped in leather and frames aftermarket Dakota Digital instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 136k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci V8 was installed during current ownership and is said to be equipped with the following components:

  • Aluminum cylinder heads
  • Edelbrock RPM intake manifold
  • Roller rocker arms
  • 218/224 camshaft
  • Holley Sniper fuel injection system
  • Flowmaster mufflers

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The transmission was rebuilt and the torque converter was replaced in April 2020. The seller states that the rear differential is equipped with 3.40:1 gearing and that the driver-side fuel tank was replaced in 2019. The underside was painted during the refurbishment, and the passenger-side fuel tank was removed. Additional photos can be viewed in the gallery below.
