This 1973 Triumph TR6 was purchased new from Richfield Imports of Richfield, Ohio and resided in nearby Akron for many years until the seller acquired the car out of Georgia in 2015 from the daughter of the reported original owner. Finished in yellow over a brown interior, the car is powered by a numbers-matching 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, and equipment includes a black convertible top, chrome bumpers, and a woodgrain dashboard. Records indicate that the vehicle was used infrequently from 1975 until the seller’s acquisition, and the fluids, belts, hoses, and brakes were replaced in 2016; the battery and muffler were replaced more recently. This TR6 shows 19k miles and is offered with a black tonneau cover, a brown boot cover, manufacturer’s literature, its window sticker, 1973 sales and warranty paperwork, service records from the 1970s and from current ownership, expired Ohio registration cards and license plates, and transferable Georgia registration in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Mimosa (64), and it features chrome bumpers and door handles, stylized Union Jack decals on the quarter panels, and a black-painted Kamm-style tail. Corrosion is noted on the passenger-side edge and top surface of the hood as well as on an area at the bottom of the passenger-side front fender; these and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below.
Steel 15″ wheels with chrome trim rings are mounted with 185-width Coker Classic red-line tires showing 2015 date codes, and an older full-size Michelin spare is situated in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the seller reportedly had brake work done in 2016.
The bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in brown vinyl with matching carpets. Equipment includes a Clarion AM radio, a heater, and manual windows.
The wood-framed instruments include a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and centrally located auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have accrued under current ownership.
The 2.5-liter inline-six was factory rated at 106 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. Induction is handled by twin Stromberg carburetors. The seller reports changing the fluids, belts, hoses, and brakes upon obtaining the car in 2015; since then the battery and muffler have been replaced, and the oil was changed in May 2021.
The engine stamping shows the sequence CF4152UE, which matches the engine number recorded on the car’s window sticker and also on warranty paperwork.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a non-overdrive four-speed manual transmission. Seeps and leaks are noted from the mechanicals, and additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
Manufacturer’s literature, service records, and other documentation will accompany the car. The window sticker reveals a $4,198.50 retail price and delivery to Richfield Imports.
