This 1998 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG is one of just 1,425 examples produced for the US market and is finished in Black Opal Pearl over black leather and powered by a 4.3-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes cruise control, automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels, European-specification springs, xenon headlights with wipers, and heated and power-adjustable front sport seats. The car was first registered in Washington and remained in the state through its acquisition by the seller, who has added 80k of the 131k miles it now has. Service performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change and replacement of the cabin air filter as well as the front brake pads and rotors. This W202 C43 AMG is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in Black Opal Pearl (189U) with AMG lower body styling. Additional equipment includes xenon headlights, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, and a power tilting and sliding sunroof. The seller notes a scratch on the rear bumper cover and states additional scratches have been touched-up.
C55-specification 18” Monoblock wheels with AMG casting marks are finished in silver with polished lips, and they are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 front and ContiProContact rear tires measuring 225/40 and 265/35, respectively. The seller states that European-specification C55 AMG springs produced by Eibach have been fitted, and that the front brake pads and rotors were replaced in preparation for the sale. A full-size spare wheel and tire are stored in the trunk, and additional equipment includes an Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
The interior features seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets that are protected by AMG-branded floor mats. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and doors, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a cassette stereo system with Bose audio, and heated and power-adjustable multi-contour front sport seats. The seller states the cabin air filter was replaced in April 2021.
The four-spoke AMG steering wheel frames white instrument dials consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 131k miles, approximately 80k of which were added by the seller since 2007.
The 4.3-liter M113 V8 features three valves per cylinder and produced 302 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states an oil and filter change was performed in April 2021.
