BaT Auction: 2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD at No Reserve

This 2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD is finished in Millennium Silver Metallic over gray leather and powered by a 3.4-liter V6 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a locking center differential, a power rear window, a roof rack, chrome trim, running boards, tinted windows, power accessories, and 17″ alloy wheels. The truck was first registered in New York and spent time in Delaware before relocating to Washington, where it was acquired by the current owner in 2011. It now has under 200k miles, and service performed since 2019 included replacing the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and idler pulley, as well as the front springs, dampers, and brake components. This third-generation 4Runner is now offered at no reserve with service records dating to 2012, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in Millennium Silver Metallic (1C0) and features a roof rack, tinted windows, body-colored mirror caps, chrome trim, running boards, a powered rear window, and a receiver hitch. The seller notes visible rust on left-side running board, and the front bumper was reportedly replaced following an impact that occurred when the vehicle was stopped at a light in 2019. The incident is listed in the Carfax report as ‘minor damage’ in November 2019. A rear spoiler is included in the sale, and the seller states that the trailer wiring harness requires repair.

17″ alloy wheels sourced from a newer-model 4Runner wear 265/70 Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. Rear wheel bearings and axle seals were installed in 2014, and maintenance since 2019 reportedly included replacing the front springs, dampers, brake rotors, and pads.

The interior features seats upholstered in gray leather with matching carpets and two-tone door panels. Amenities include folding rear seats, power accessories, air conditioning, cruise control, and a factory stereo with CD and cassette players. The driver’s seat is fitted with an aftermarket cover, and the condition of the seat is shown in the gallery below. The seller notes that some interior trim pieces are loose or missing.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows under 200k miles, approximately 75k of which were added during current ownership.

The 3.4-liter V6 sends power to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and a locking center differential The charcoal canister was replaced in 2016, and the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and idler pulley were replaced in 2019. Service in November 2020 included an oil change and replacing the air filter, and oil seepage at the rear of the engine was noted at that time.
