BaT Auction: 3k-Mile 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

This 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is one of approximately 410 examples built for the US market during a two-year production run, and it was sold new from Motor Werks Porsche in Barrington, Illinois. The car is finished in green over a black leather and Alcantara interior with green accents and is powered by a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 19″ wheels finished in black, a carbon-fiber rear wing, the Chrono package, the Bi-Xenon Headlamp package, automatic climate control, and carbon-fiber trim. Service since June 2020 has consisted of replacing the battery and performing an oil change. This 911 GT3 RS is now offered by the selling dealer with service records, manufacturer’s literature, its window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.

The track-focused RS model features 44mm wider rear bodywork when compared to the standard 997.1 GT3. This is one of 43 examples of the 997.1 GT3 RS finished in Green (J5) and features a carbon-fiber rear wing, clear side marker lenses, and black side mirrors, rear wing end plates, and GT3 RS graphics on each side. The selling dealer notes paint protection film on the front fascia and rear quarter panels, and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery below.

Staggered-width 19″ wheels are finished in black and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Porsche Active Suspension Management came standard, and braking is handled by red-finished calipers over vented and cross-drilled steel rotors.

The interior is upholstered in black leather with Alcantara inserts and features optional body-color accents on the center console, dashboard trim, instrument cluster surround, and climate control vents. Equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a CD stereo, an aluminum foot rest, and the Chrono Package.

The optional leather-wrapped thicker steering wheel frames a central tachometer with an 8,400-rpm redline, a 225-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows under 3k miles.

The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Mezger M97/76 flat-six is equipped with titanium connecting rods, VarioCam variable valve timing, and dry-sump lubrication with a remote oil tank. Factory-rated output was 415 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with an asymmetric limited-slip differential. Reported service since June 2020 has included replacing the battery and performing an oil change, and the spark plugs were replaced in 2017 at approximately 2,500 miles. A DME report is provided in the gallery below.

The window sticker lists original delivery to Motor Werks Porsche in Barrington, Illinois, along with factory colors, optional equipment, and a total price of $134,690. Manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and service records are also included in the sale.

The accident-free Carfax report displays a number of mileage updates along with registration in Illinois and Ohio from new.
