BaT Auction: Modified 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

This 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra 10th Anniversary Edition is finished in black over charcoal and red leather and is powered by a supercharged 4.6-liter DOHC V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Factory equipment includes a limited-slip differential, SVT-tuned independent suspension, a rear spoiler, and a Mach 460 audio system, while modifications consist of a ported supercharger and throttle body, Magnaflow exhaust system, short-throw shifter, Lasota Racing ECU tune, and more. The car was sold new from Pistilli Ford of Paramus, New Jersey, and was acquired by the seller from the original owner in July 2020. This SVT Cobra indicates 9k miles and is offered with original purchase documents, fitted car cover, SCT X4 programmer, a window sticker, an SVT Certificate, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black and features a Cobra-specific front fascia, hood, side moldings, and rear spoiler. Additional details include 10th Anniversary SVT badging, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and tinted windows and taillight lenses. Ceramic coating was applied by Apex Car Care LLC of Rochester Hills, Michigan in 2020.

Staggered-width 17″ split-spoke wheels are mounted with 275/40 and 315/35 Nitto NT-05 tires. Independent rear suspension was standard as were four-wheel disc brakes with red Cobra-branded calipers up front. Modifications include aftermarket widened rear wheels, H&R lowering springs, and Maximum Motorsports camber plates and sub-frame connectors. A brake fluid flush was reportedly performed in March 2021. Factory-removed rear wheels accompany the car.

The cabin features dark charcoal leather upholstery with red inserts and Cobra embroidery on the seat backs. Amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, a Mach 460 audio system, and an in-dash six-disc CD changer. An MGW short-throw shifter has been installed in place of the factory unit.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, boost, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 9k miles, approximately 1,300 of which have been added by the seller.

The supercharged 4.6-liter V8 features dual overhead camshafts and has been modified with the following components:

  • Stiegemeier ported supercharger and throttle body
  • 2.76″ upper supercharger pulley
  • JLT ram air intake
  • SCT mass airflow sensor
  • Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump
  • AEM wideband oxygen sensor
  • MRT off-road H-pipe
  • Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system
  • Lasota Racing ECU tune

The seller states that an oil change was performed in March 2021, along with replacement of the supercharger belt. Factory-removed mid-pipes with catalytic converters accompany the car.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a Ford Racing cover.

The window sticker lists original delivery to Pistilli Ford along with factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $36,560.

The Carfax report indicates no accidents or other damage and shows registration history in New York and Michigan.
