This 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was purchased new by the seller’s father-in-law from Fletcher Jones Motor Cars of Newport Beach, California, and now has 17k miles. The car is finished in Aegean Blue over Ash leather and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, Active Body Control suspension, bi-xenon headlights, chrome 18″ wheels, heated and power-adjustable seats, and COMAND with navigation. This R230 is offered by the seller on behalf of his father-in-law with manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, service records, a branded car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title.
The car is finished in Aegean Blue (946) and features a power-retractable hardtop. Aftermarket window tint has been added, and other features include bi-xenon headlights, fog lamps, auto-dimming mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. A dent on the left-rear quarter panel and a crack in the front lower valance are shown up close in the image gallery below.
Five-spoke 18″ chrome wheels are wrapped in an older set of staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport tires, which the seller states should be replaced. The car rides on Active Body Control (ABC) suspension, and stopping power is provided by anti-lock four wheel disc brakes with cross-drilled front rotors.
The heated and power-adjustable seats are upholstered in Ash leather (208), and the cabin features matching carpets, a two-tone dashboard and door panels, and burl wood veneer accents. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer, and COMAND with navigation. The seller notes that the trunk struts need to be replaced. Sheepskin seat covers are included in the sale.
The multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel features burl wood accents and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, inset monochrome LCD screens, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. The battery is said to have been replaced in December 2020, and service records dating back to 2005 can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
The window sticker lists factory colors and equipment as well as a Total Retail Price of $94,200.
