BaT Auction: 1994 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Convertible at No Reserve

This 1994 Jaguar XJS convertible is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in Flamenco Red over tan leather with a matching soft top, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and polished 15” basketweave wheels. The car remained registered in California prior to being acquired by the seller on BaT in February 2021 and subsequently relocated to Florida. This XJS convertible now shows just over 59k miles and is offered at no reserve with a boot cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Flamenco Red with gold pinstripes, body-colored bumpers, and a chrome windshield surround, side mirrors, and trim. The car is equipped with a tan soft top and boot cover, and additional exterior features include a power antenna, headlight washers, tinted taillights, and dual exhaust outlets. The convertible top is shown in its raised and lowered positions in the gallery below.

This is a re-list after the vehicle previously sold on BaT in June 2021 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

Polished 15″ basketweave wheels are fitted with 215/70 Hankook Kinergy ST tires showing 2019 date codes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and a full-size spare is stored in the trunk.

The interior is upholstered in tan leather with burl wood accents on the dashboard, center console, shift knob, and doors. Additional amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, and power-adjustable and heated front seats. The factory AM/FM cassette stereo does not work, and a tear in the passenger seat upholstery is shown in a photo in the gallery.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,700-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just over 59k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.0-liter AJ6 inline-six produced 219 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque when new. Service performed in the last year is said to have included replacement of the fuel pump and an oil change.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside images are shown in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California and Florida.
