BaT Auction: 23k-Mile 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Designo Launch Edition at No Reserve

This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is a Designo Launch Edition model that spent time in Florida and Iowa before it was acquired by the selling dealer in April 2021. The car is finished in Designo Silver Metallic over Charcoal leather and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a retractable hardtop, Active Body Control suspension, bi-xenon headlights, tinted windows, burl walnut trim, heated and ventilated multi-contour seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an Alcantara headliner, and COMAND infotainment with a Bose sound system. This R230 has 23k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a factory tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.

The car is finished in Designo Silver Metallic (029U) and equipped with a retractable hardtop that can be seen both raised and lowered. The heated and ventilated multi-contour seats are upholstered in Charcoal Nappa leather, and leather extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panel trim. Amenities include an Alcantara headliner, dual-zone automatic climate control, burl walnut trim, a cargo net in the passenger footwell, and COMAND infotainment with Bose premium audio and a CD changer.

The 5.0-liter M113 V8 produced 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque when new. The selling dealer states an oil change was performed in June 2020.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.

Manufacturer’s literature, Designo-branded floor mats, a factory tool kit, and two keys are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Florida and Iowa.
