BaT Auction: Modified 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata 5-Speed

This 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata is finished in red over tan leather and powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car was first registered in West Virginia, where it remained until being acquired by the seller in June 2020 and relocated to Virginia. Equipment includes a tan soft top, power steering, power windows, air conditioning, and a factory CD and cassette stereo. Modifications consist of a GReddy turbocharger system, BC Racing coilovers, and an aftermarket exhaust system. This NA Miata shows 28k miles and is offered with a clean Carfax report and a clean Virginia title.

The car is finished in Classic Red (SU) and features pop-up headlights, power-operated side mirrors, and a tan vinyl soft top. The vinyl rear window is torn, and paint chips and scratches are visible on various body panels.

Factory 14″ alloy wheels are fitted with older Micheline Pilot XGT H4 tires, and the car is equipped with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The seller reports that the suspension has been modified with BC Racing coilovers.

The cabin features tan leather upholstery with matching door panels, carpeting, and a two-tone dashboard. Interior amenities include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, stainless steel door sill plates, headrest speakers, and a factory Sensory Sound System with AM/FM cassette and CD player.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. An A-pillar gauge pod houses a boost gauge and exhaust gas temperature gauge. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller.

The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four has been modified with a GReddy turbocharger kit and an aftermarket exhaust system. The seller reports a service in April 2021 included an oil change, and replacement of the air filter, clutch master cylinder, and clutch slave cylinder.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential.

The torn window sticker shows factory colors and equipment and lists a total price of $20,220.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in West Virginia and Virginia.
