This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 is a five-window half-ton pickup that spent time in North Carolina before it was acquired by the seller in 2003, and it was subsequently refurbished. The exterior was refinished in green, the bench seat was reupholstered with burgundy vinyl, wooden planks were fitted in the bed, and the trim was rechromed. The truck is powered by a 235ci inline-six mated to a three-speed column-shifted manual transmission, and the seller reports that recent service included rebuilding the carburetor and replacement of the front oil seal. This Advance Design pickup is now offered with service records dating back to 2004, manufacturer’s literature, service manuals, and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.
During the refurbishment, the body was disassembled and repainted in its current shade of green and various trim pieces were replaced, including the bumpers and door handles. The Stepside bed is lined with stained wooden slats secured with polished stainless-steel cargo runners. Additional features include dual side-view mirrors, running boards, and a flip-down rear tailgate. The seller reports spots of body filler, as well as scratches in the windshield and paintwork.
Body-colored 15” steel wheels are accented by chrome trim rings and hubcaps, and they are wrapped in 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires that the seller states were installed in 2004. The braking and steering systems were also overhauled.
The cabin features a single bench seat that was reupholstered in burgundy vinyl during the refurbishment, and lap belts are fitted for three occupants. Additional features include a painted metal dashboard, two-tone gray door panels, a heater box, a locking glove compartment, and black rubber floor lining. Wear is visible on the door panels.
The black three-spoke steering wheel frames replacement chrome-bezel instrumentation that consists of a 90-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. 34k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. The seller reports that the speedometer and odometer are currently inoperative, and total mileage is unknown.
The 235ci inline-six features a single carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed column-shifted manual transmission. The truck was converted to a 12-volt electrical system utilizing a generator, and services in the past year are said to include refurbishment to the carburetor and replacement of the front oil seal and drive belt. An oil leak is noted by the seller.
The fuel tank was replaced during the refurbishment. Corrosion is visible throughout the underside, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery below.
Manuals and literature are included in the sale along with records from the refurbishment. The current Ohio title carries an Exceeds Mechanical Limits brand.
