BaT Auction: 20k-Mile 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS 5-Speed

This 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 is #1,487 of approximately 2,000 North American-Specification examples imported into the US for the model year. The truck is finished in Portifino Red over a gray interior and is powered by a 3.9-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a locking center differential, a removable hardtop, a black soft top, a roll cage, a front brush guard, air conditioning, a CD stereo, side step bars, power-assisted disc brakes, and 16″ alloy wheels. Service performed in March 2021 included an oil change and a replacement battery, fuel pump, and fuel injector relay. This NAS Defender 90 shows 20k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer in Florida with the owner’s manual, a maintenance log, a bikini top, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.

The aluminum body is finished in Portifino Red and features black wheel arch flares and a matching black soft top. Equipment includes a front brush guard, an internal/external roll cage, a tubular rear bumper with a hitch receiver, front mud flaps, and side step bars. The fiberglass hardtop’s rear window is damaged. Photos detailing separation on the soft top are viewable in the gallery.

Silver 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in 265/75 BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires that were installed in 2016. A matching spare is affixed to a swing-out rear carrier, and braking is from power-assisted discs at all four corners.

The front bucket seats are trimmed in Charcoal cloth with vinyl sides and backs and are joined by a gray dashboard and door panels. The air conditioning was reportedly added by the selling dealer, and additional interior features include a CD stereo, a locking center console, and rubber Land Rover-script floor mats.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 20k miles.

The 3.9-liter V8 was factory rated at 182 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. Service performed in March 2021 consisted of an oil change, a refurbished oil pump, and a replacement battery, fuel pump, and fuel injector relay.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case with a locking center differential. Corrosion is noted on the exhaust.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other issues and shows registration history in New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
