BaT Auction: 31k-Mile 2003 Honda S2000

This 2003 Honda S2000 was first delivered to Val Strough Honda in Seaside, California, and it relocated to Nevada following the seller’s purchase in 2016 and now has 31k miles. The car is a silver-over-black convertible that is powered by a 2.0-liter VTEC inline-four paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a power-retractable black soft top, xenon headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows and locks. This S2000 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, an installed battery tender, a tonneau cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

The bodywork is finished in Sebring Silver Metallic and paired with a power-operated black folding soft top with a glass window. Equipment includes xenon headlights, dual exhaust outlets, and body-colored mirror caps. Imperfections to the front bumper noted by the seller include a scrape adjacent to the right-front wheel and scratches around the location of the front license plate, which are shown in the gallery below.

Factory 16″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with Potenza S-02 tires that the seller states require replacement soon. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and a brake fluid flush was completed in August 2021.

The cabin features black leather upholstery with color-matching carpeting and trim, and equipment includes aluminum pedals, air conditioning, a factory stereo, cruise control, as well as power windows, door locks, and branded door sill covers. The cabin filter was replaced in May 2019.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a digital cluster with a speedometer, sweeping tachometer, and auxiliary information. The digital odometer indicates 31k miles, approximately 3k of which were added during current ownership.

The 2.0-liter VTEC inline-four is equipped with variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The battery was replaced in 2019, while an oil change, inspection, and coolant flush were completed in August 2021.

Maintenance performed at 30k miles in April 2018 included the replacement of the transmission fluid and differential fluid. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery.

Service records are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California and Nevada, where a state emissions inspection was passed in August 2021.
