BaT Auction: Fuel-Injected 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe 4-Speed

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette is a split-window coupe that is powered by a replacement fuel-injected 350ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 3.70:1 rear end. The car was acquired by the seller in 2015, and power-assisted steering and brakes have since been added. Additional equipment includes an AM/FM cassette stereo, flip-up headlights, and 15” steel wheels with polished covers. This C2 coupe is being offered with a spare V8 long block with cylinder heads, a Delco AM radio, a transmission bell housing, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Factory finished in Silver Blue Poly (912), the fiberglass bodywork was repainted following the seller’s acquisition in 2006. Exterior features include a split rear window, flip-up headlights, split chrome bumperettes, and dual exhausts that exit through the rear valance.

The 15” steel wheels feature chrome covers with faux knock-off spinners and are wrapped in whitewall Firestone Precision Touring tires sized 215/70. Power-assisted steering and brakes have been added during current ownership, and some of the removed factory parts will accompany the vehicle.

The cabin features seats trimmed in dark blue vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and loop carpets. Lap belts are fitted for both occupants, and amenities include an analog clock and a Corvette-branded AM/FM radio wired to speakers housed in the kick panels. A Delco push-button AM radio is included in the sale along with a pair of uninstalled kick panels.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 160-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, around 5k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the tachometer is said to be inaccurate.

The 350ci V8 is a replacement unit that features Rochester mechanical fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes an oil change in early 2021. A photo of the Rochester serial number is viewable in the gallery.

Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.

A spare engine block and cylinder heads will accompany the vehicle, along with a transmission bell housing and other parts shown in the gallery. The spare engine pad stamping is also provided below and shows an “RF” suffix, indicating a 327ci 360-horsepower fuel-injected V8 for manual transmission applications.
