First unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the second-generation GT was built by Multimatic of Markham, Ontario with production beginning in December 2016. Construction incorporates a carbon-fiber monocoque structure bolted to aluminum front and rear subframes, with design elements including a teardrop-like profile, butterfly doors, buttressed rear fender tunnels, a Gorilla Glass windshield, a rear diffuser, and a speed-activated rear wing and front splitter.
This example was delivered from the factory in Ingot Silver and features include exposed gloss carbon-fiber trim on the side skirts, front and rear fasciae, side mirrors, and engine bay louvers. A Heffner titanium exhaust system is fitted. Paint-protection film is said to have been applied to the bodywork. Scuffs are visible on the driver-side front carbon fascia.
The staggered-width 20″ gloss carbon-fiber wheels are secured with titanium lug nuts. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measure 245/35 up front and 325/30 at the rear. The cockpit is optioned with the Dark Energy interior package and features ebony Alcantara and ridged cloth wrapped over fixed Sparco bucket seats with manually reclining carbon-fiber shells. The multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in ebony Alcantara and is backed by black aluminum paddle shifters and a configurable digital instrument panel. The digital odometer displays approximately 700 miles. A plaque on the passenger side of the dash indicates that the car is the 74th GT built for the model year.
The mid-mounted 3.5L EcoBoost quad-cam V6 features twin turbochargers, a cast aluminum intake manifold, and dry-sump lubrication and was factory rated at 647 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 550 lb-ft of torque at 5,900 rpm.
