This 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake is one of 50 Signature Edition cars built by Shelby American to celebrate the end of production of the S197 Ford Shelby GT500. The car is finished in Sterling Gray Metallic with black stripes over gray Katzkin leather upholstery and is powered by a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 linked to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Super Snake Signature Edition package included a 3.6-liter Kenne Bell supercharger, a performance cooling package, a carbon-fiber front splitter, a Super Snake hood with heat extractors, an upgraded suspension with a Watts linkage, Wilwood disc brakes, forged 20″ forged Weld wheels, and Super Snake Signature Edition badging and front-seat embroidery. The car was sold new at Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later spent time in Arizona before relocating to California upon the seller’s acquisition in 2016. This S197 Super Snake has 1,400 miles and is now offered in Nevada with a window sticker, a Ford Performance Group certificate, a Shelby American Vehicle Authenticity Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a Shelby jacket, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The production run of the GT500 Super Snake Signature Edition was limited to 50 units, and this example is finished in Sterling Gray Metallic with black over-the-top stripes and Super Snake GT500 side stripes as well as Signature Edition badging on the tail panel and fenders. Additional features include a Super Snake hood with heat extractors, an upper grille mesh insert, a carbon-fiber front splitter, a rear spoiler, side scoops, a power-operated black soft top, a light bar with a center brake light, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. Scratches are visible on the front splitter, and the seller notes that a replacement carbon fiber front splitter is included in the sale.
Black-finished 20″ forged Weld Wheels with Signature Edition center caps wear 275/35 front and 295/35 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The car rides on a revised suspension equipped by Shelby American with a red-finished Watts link and caster/camber plate kit. Stopping power is provided by red-finished Shelby-branded Wilwood calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners, and a front-brake cooling kit is fitted.
The interior features front bucket seats upholstered in gray Katzkin leather with contrasting silver stitching and Signature Edition embroidery on the backrests that were added as part of the Interior Upgrade Package. A plaque affixed ahead of the shifter identifies the car as a Shelby Super Snake Signature Edition and notes the individual Shelby American CSM number, while a commemorative Carroll Shelby signature air bag cover decal is applied on the passenger-side dashboard. Amenities include a Shaker audio system with a rear subwoofer, a 4.2″ LCD screen, air conditioning, cruise control, and partial power-adjustment for the front seats.
The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel fronts a 220-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges showing coolant temperature and fuel level. Autometer gauges indicating supercharger boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure are mounted to the driver-side A-pillar. The digital odometer indicates 1,400 miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller.
The 5.8-liter V8 has been fitted with a liquid-cooled 3.6-liter Kenne Bell supercharger along with a larger radiator, a heat exchanger, billet engine fluid caps, and aluminum expansion tanks. Factory output reported by Shelby American was 850 horsepower following the modifications. An oil change was completed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a Shelby short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential. Shelby/BMR boxed subframe connectors were installed under current ownership.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Montrose Ford-Lincoln in Colorado along with equipment, colors, and a total MSRP of $67,725 before the car was sent to Shelby American for modifications. A Ford Performance Group certificate along with manufacturer’s literature can be viewed in the gallery below.
The Shelby American Vehicle Authenticity Certificate shows a verification date of June 9th, 2016, and notes the individual Shelby American CSM number.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, and California. The car is registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California. There is currently a lien on the car, and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner.
