BaT Auction: 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60

This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 was delivered new to Mark Toyota-Volvo in Aurora, Colorado, and it also spent time in Nebraska until it was acquired by the seller and relocated to Georgia in December 2014. Subsequent refurbishment work included a frame-off refurbishment and repaint in Beige, replacing the exhaust, the windshield and headliner, and installing rock sliders, an Old Man Emu lift kit and shocks, a rear bumper with LED lights and a swing-out rear tire carrier, and an ARB front bumper and driving lights. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and other equipment includes air conditioning, a rear-area heater, and an AM/FM radio. Maintenance performed by the seller includes the replacement of the seals, water pump, gaskets, radiator, power steering pump, filters, and fluids. This FJ60 shows 99k miles and is offered with a window sticker, service records, manufacturer’s literature, removed parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.

The truck was refinished in Beige during the refurbishment and features a split tailgate, mud flaps, a receiver hitch, and a rear wiper. An ARB front bumper and driving lights were added along with a winch, a Warn fairlead, rock sliders, and a rear bumper with a swing-out rear tire carrier, a fuel canister holder, and integrated LED reverse and directional lights. The windshield and badges have been replaced, and the removed bumpers are included in the sale.

Teflon Grey 17″ American Racing Mojave ATX Series wheels are fitted over Aisin manually locking hubs up front and wear 265/70 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires. The removed wheels are included in the sale. Work under current ownership includes installing an Old Man Emu suspension lift and shocks, and the seller reports that the power steering pump and brake booster unit were replaced.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in patterned cloth and brown vinyl along with matching door panels, carpet, and a two-tone dashboard. Amenities include air conditioning, a center console, a push-button AM/FM radio, manual windows and door locks, and a rear cabin heater. The seller reports that the headliner was replaced. The carpet shows fading, and there is a tear in the driver’s seat vinyl. Sheepskin seat covers are included in the sale.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 700 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory-rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Recent maintenance includes an engine refurbishment, a fluid and filter change, as well as the replacement of the filters, seals, coolant hoses, spark plugs, water pump, and the distributor and ignition wires.

Power is sent to the rear or to all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Mark Toyota-Volvo in Aurora, Colorado, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $15,168.
