BaT Auction: 8k-Mile 1996 Dodge Viper GTS

This 1996 Dodge Viper GTS is powered by an 8.0-liter V10 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential and is finished in Viper GTS Blue with white stripes over black leather. The car was originally registered in Georgia and spent time in Tennessee where it was acquired by the current owner in 2000. Features include a vented hood, polished 17″ wheels, a racing-style fuel-filler door, centrally mounted twin exhaust outlets, air conditioning, power windows, and an Alpine CD stereo system. This Viper GTS shows 8k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title.

The car is finished in Viper GTS Blue with white over-the-top stripes and features a vented hood, fog lights, a racing-style fuel-filler door, side vents, a double-bubble roof, and center-mounted rear exhaust outlets. The seller states that the paint on the underside of the front bumper has been touched up.

Factory 17″ polished wheels wear 275/40 front and 335/35 rear Michelin Pilot SX tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with Viper-branded front calipers.

The bolstered bucket seats are trimmed in black leather, and amenities include power windows, air conditioning, dual airbags, an Alpine CD stereo, and Viper-branded floor mats with red logos.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with a 6k-redline and a 200-mph speedometer. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are located atop the center stack. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller.

The 8.0-liter Viper V10 was factory rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque in GTS models.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history with two owners in Georgia and Tennessee.
