This Factory Five Racing Mk3 Roadster is a Cobra replica that was purchased by the seller as a kit in 2008, and it was subsequently completed in 2010. The car is finished in metallic gray with silver stripes and is powered by a 351ci V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes black upholstery, 17″ Halibrand-style wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, coilover suspension, side-exit exhaust pipes, four-point harnesses, and a roll hoop. This Cobra replica is now offered in Nevada with build documentation, parts receipts, and a clean California title listing the car as a specially constructed vehicle.
The Mk3’s fiberglass bodywork is mounted over a black powder-coated box frame, and this example is finished in metallic gray and accented with silver center stripes and “427” fender badges. Features include a Talbot-style side mirror, wind wings, ceramic-coated side-exit exhaust pipes, a chrome roll hoop, and a vintage-style fuel-filler cap.
Halibrand-style 17” wheels with knock-off-look covers are mounted with Sumitomo HTR tires measuring 245/45 up front and 315/35 out back. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs with Wilwood calipers, and the height-adjustable coilover suspension features Koni shock absorbers.
Twin fixed-back bucket seats are trimmed in black upholstery and fitted with Simpson four-point harnesses. Black carpeting lines the floors, and additional features include a dashboard-mounted mirror, center console cup holders, an aluminum shift-knob, and an access door to the trunk in between the seats.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, and an ammeter, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are centrally housed in the dashboard. Under 6k miles are shown on the digital odometer, all of which have been added by the seller.
The 351ci Ford V8 is said to have been balanced and blueprinted, and it is fitted with the following components:
- Federal Mogul 9.7:1 compression pistons
- SpeedPro piston rings
- Nodular iron crankshaft
- Hydraulic roller lifter camshaft
- Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads
- Heavy-duty valve springs and pushrods
- Polished stainless-steel valves
- Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold
- Holley four-barrel carburetor
- Finned aluminum valve covers
- Stainless-steel exhaust headers
A PerTronix electronic ignition system has been fitted, along with a Holley electric fuel pump, and a Melling oil pump. Included documents also note a replacement alternator, water pump, thermostat, and fuel lines, and an oil change was recently performed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end with 3.55:1 gearing. Additional photos of the chassis and mechanical components are presented below.
The Factory Five Racing data plate is shown above, and the car is titled by its assigned serial number. The SB100 label dated from February 2010 lists the car as a 2010 Specially Constructed Cobra replica with a 1968 Ford 5.8L V8.
